need real answer plz!

Thread Starter
hey guys i've read a lot about the VGA cable for 360 that you can get high resolution on your pc monitor and save money without buying HDTV, is it real? i need a real answer on the following question:

which can give the best picture?:
a- an xbox 360 played with 1080p on pc monitor threw VGA cable (im talking about monitor supporting that resolution)
b- an xbox 360 played on 1080p HDTV threw VGA in (using VGA cable)
c- an xbox 360 played on 1080p HDTV threw HDMI cable

if there is any difference i need you to give a score for the picture quality over 100 (100 means perfect) for each case.

sorry if it looks like a quiz lolllll but i need a real answer about that question thanx in advance guys

If all are in 1080p, then the screen which is smallest would provide the best picture quality because it has the smallest pixels. Other than that...it shouldn't be any different. If you've got a TV, just use the 1080p TV, and run your Xbox there at said resolution .

Uhh, am I the only one who read this correctly? You cant get anything above 480i with VGA cables. Thats only for standard tv kind of stuff. What you need is an HDMI -> DVI converter for your monitor if you choose to go that route. You can get them @ Radio shack for 20-30 bucks, or any retailer like wal-mart.

Also, make sure the TV you are playing it on actually is a 1080p TV, and has a decent refresh rate. They say the magic number is 120 (but I dont think you will need all 120 frames\\sec). Ideally you want a TV that can keep up with your games, as not all TVs are created equally. However, a good widescreen monitor that is rated 1080p will make an excellent viewing source (provided its big enough ^^)

you can get 1080p though HDMI, given your monitor supports HDCP.

Component cables (3 video, and 2 audio lines) work just as well, and if your monitor has these inputs, i would recommend using this over a VGA connection...
good enough

so you mean that the component cable can give a better picture than the VGA cable on the same resolution?
