My thoughts (for non-DX10 gaming, the video card doesn't get much better - just make sure you can cram that beast in that case... ). All from Newegg:
  • AeroCool M40-BK Black 0.6 SECC Steel MicroATX Cube case Computer Case $89.99
  • BIOSTAR GF7050V-M7 LGA 775 NVIDIA GeForce 7050 Micro ATX Intel Motherboard $49.99
  • SAPPHIRE 100177L Radeon X1950XTX 512MB 256-bit GDDR4 PCI Express x16 CrossFire Supported Video Card $99.99
  • CORSAIR CMPSU-450VX 450W ATX12V V2.2 Power Supply $79.99
  • Intel Pentium E2180 Allendale 2.0GHz LGA 775 65W Dual-Core Processor Model BX80557E2180 $69.99
  • SUPER TALENT 2GB (2 x 1GB) 240-Pin DDR2 SDRAM DDR2 800 (PC2 6400) Dual Channel Kit Desktop Memory Model T800UX2GC5 $39.99
  • Western Digital Caviar SE WD1600AAJS 160GB 7200 RPM SATA 3.0Gb/s Hard Drive $44.99
  • PHILIPS 20X DVD±R DVD Burner Black SATA Model SPD2513BM/17 $24.99
Total: $499.92

Shopping around might save you some. The same PSU is $10 cheaper at www.buy.com (before rebate):

Silverstone makes very nice cases... highly recommended (I just thought the Aerocool looked very nice, and fit the budget )

If you con't care that it's a cube, take a look at some cheaper cases that are still nice, like this Coolermaster Elite:

yeah looked at that case to im just not sure on the case other parts r pretty much finalized i don't think that 1950xtx will fit.
cus im not sure on the measurements
but that silver stone after rebates is 59.99 or elite is 39.99 hmm basically same design on inside but SS is better and has 2 120 fans already?
well hope more ppl can give input

The Silverstone case is by far the best mATX case I have ever worked with. I would stay far far away from Shuttle, I have had nothing but problems with them.

How about the AMD build with the X1950XTX? I think that's more than plenty power for your needs...
