You would know that LucasArts are making the PS3 and Xbox 360 versions, and another company (or companies) are making the Wii, PS2, PSP and DS versions.
This should give you a clue as to what the devs mean when they say THEY won't be porting it to PC because it won't run well.
The PS3/Xbox 360 version won't run well, and THAT is the one with all the fancy stuff. Forget the PS2 and Wii versions, they have nothing to do with any of this.

Speaking in an interview with VideoGamer.com last week, Cameron Suey, producer of the Xbox 360 and PS3 versions of The Force Unleashed
Note the highlighted section. Thank you, now shut up about it being made for PS2/Wii. That isn't the same game.

As for Crysis. Anyone check what Crytek said recently? That's right... no more PC exclusives. Crysis didn't sell well and was pirated quite a lot.
Why would LucasArts make a game similar to Crysis (high end specs) which is only going to run on a few computers, and consequently is unlikely to sell well? From a financial perspective, it makes little to no sense. Why invest a lot in porting the game, trying to make sure it runs well on as many computers as possible, for it to then not make much money?

A PC version which would have mass appeal WOULD be watered down. It wouldn't be the same version as you get on the high end consoles, OR LucasArts would have to make different games (again, like Crysis) for high end versus low end computers, which would suck for the people who don't get what was promised by all the previews etc.

Yes, it sucks for those PC users who do have good computers. Yes it's disappointing, but no, it's not LucasArts talking trash and being a bunch of screw-ups. From a business perspective it makes a lot of sense, and from a promise perspective it also makes sense. They set out to make a game, they promised a lot with that game, and they don't want to end up releasing something that people feel ripped off by because what they get in the box isn't what they saw in the previews.

I don't get it, PC is more than capable of playing the games Xbox & Playstation have. Are game developers using the hardware at all? We keep on having to upgrade our systems to accommodate new games, but 90 % games barely use the hardware efficiently. Even in the CPU work, how many applications out there actually are threaded and use the multi-core processor hardware?

Well, no... BUUUUTTTTTTTTTT Crytek did announce that it would no longer produce PC exclusives, which is pretty much the first step in the transition from PC game company to console company. They blamed lower than expected sales numbers.

And no, this guy is doing an end-around the truth. The truth is that the guys with $1500 dollar systems would easily be able to play a game made for the Xbox360 if they optimized it, but then why bother since those guys already have 360's - they bought one instead of the new cpu/gpu/whatever. The re-optimizing would cost more than they would get back in sales, even though somehow Ubisoft still manages it with all of their major titles AND turn a profit.

One thing you guys seem to be missing is the difficulty of developing for the PC. You have to support many different types of hardware, drivers, OS versions, etc....

So they have to work out how to make the game look decent on different resolutions, different shader models, different video cards, and on, and on, and on. This isn't insanely easy. However, developing for a console means you can push it to the limits, and know exactly how it will look for every end user. This means development time and costs will be much less than it would be for the PC.

All this being said, I still do not agree that they couldn't make it for the PC, they probably just don't see enough profit in it given the time and headache.

/shrug Glad I have a 360 also. I honestly never intended to purchase this game for PC as I would rather play it on console. And as a company wide decision, makes logical sense in terms of making as much money with as little loss as possible.
