hmmmm cutting it close there. 550w is listed as the minimum for an X2.

I would say that it may make a cut barely without OC. The PSU has only 2 x 6 pin PCI-E power connectors.
its gona be close.......
i would say no... sense i use between 250 - 275w Occt load, 350w at most i have ever used!!
("Power Watcher" a lil LCD telling how many watts im using)
thats with a Quad3.9GHz @ 1.43vcore and a wimpie 7600GT

ya know im getting the 3870x2 also..
we'll probable have to seuffer with no OC till we get a new PSU

I would say yes, but don't blame me when you OC and your PSU will fail and blow your computer up, lol.

For stock it should be ok, but for overclocking, no.

Maybe I will only get the Q6600.
Because I dont want to get a brand new Power supply, because the one I have is relativelly new.
Will the Q6600 increase the performance in good values???
Will I get headroom for OC if I keep the system and Only change the CPU?

If I would need to get a new PowerSupply would a Corsair 620W be good?

Q6600 has power on processor side. You still need a GPU to nandle the graphics if you play games or something. 620HX is top line of PSU. Get the 620HX only when you need modular, otherewise, for $78, you can get a Corsair 650TX from buy.com.

Yes the Q6600 will definitely give you a big speed boost. As far as the graphics card goes and your choice to go with ATI....why would you go with the 3870X2 over the 9800GTX or even the 8800GTS G92? The 3870X2 isn't anything special hence why I went with the 8800GTS G92 after being an ATI fan for the past 5 years. As far as performance goes....my current setup is pulling high 15's to 16,xxx points with a single 8800GTS G92 and in every benchmark that I have looked at this pretty much beats the 3870X2 hands down in "about every test."
