Q9450 Running Hot

Thread Starter
Ive got a q9450 with the arctic freezer pro 7 on it and it seems to be running hot for a 45nm. idling it is Core 1-47, core 2-45, core 3-49, core 4-49. Everything is stock and not overclocked. any suggestions

Not sure what temp monitoring program you're using, but I suggest using real temp. Real temp is the most accurate software temp monitor right now for 45nm cpus.

What is your ambient temperature?

That variable plays an enormous part in temperature performance.

Have you tried re-seating with more or less TIM (experimenting).

As TnB stated, use Real Temp, also CoreTemp, as well as HW Monitor. These 2 utilities seem to be the most consistently accurate.

TriBeCa, that seems too high... what is your ambient temperature?

oops...you said 29C. That Delta is too high Imho...

But, bear in mind that I have no direct experience with the 45nm cores.

Yeah... I would try reseating.
