Which DDR2 Speed Do I Use in Calculations?

Everybody is talking about 1:1 ratios between FSB and memory speeds. However, I'm not sure which memory speed to consider when making the ratio.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/DDR2

Is it the memory clock or the I/O bus clock?

For example, the FSB rating for a Core 2 Duo E7200 is 266 MHz (multiplier is 9.5). I have 2MB of PC2-5300 DDR2. According to the link above, it's memory clock is 166 MHz and its I/O bus clock is 333 MHz. Would this memory be running faster or slower than the FSB in this system?

Thank you! I'm new, so I'm just learning .

Faster. The memory is at a clock of 333(667 effective), and your FSB is 266...

Easy to get 1:1 though (if you want it), just overclock your e7200 to a FSB of 333.
BTW welcome to OCN!

Yeah, you use the I/O bus clock...

Thanks! And as a matter of fact, I was planning to push the e7200 to 333 MHz in case you said the I/O bus clock
