Need Help!

alright, so I have a Q6600 with 4GB 800MHz ram on an 680i LT, yesterday I changed my FSB bus from 1066 to 1333 to get my cpu at 3.0.. So today.. I go to my brothers house, he happens to also have a Q6600 with 4GB 800MHz but with a Striker Extreme mobo, I told him about the overclocking and I thought it would be as simple at 1066>1333, save and exit.. Done, but no, now everytime I boot the computer it gets stuck on the first mobo graphic, it says press DEL to enter bios, blah blah blah, but its completly frozen, I've tried waiting, and restarting a few times, no luck.. I just ****ed up my brothers computer, feel like a noob now haha, the only thing I can think about doing at this point is removing the CMOS battery and putting it back.. Any suggestions or comments??!

if your unable to get into bios and switch it back, or do anything in bios, then i would suggest clearing the cmos.

You can either remove the cmos battery for a few minutes then pop it back in or you can use the CMOS jumpers. Look in the motherboard manual to see where the CMOS jumpers are located.

Also about his computer freezing... That means the overclock is unstable. This could be of many reasons. The q6600 not getting enough voltage, the memory being clocked too high, the memory needing a bit more voltage, etc..

I would recommend reading the following article so you can continue to overclock your processor more and overclock your brother's system.
