so you think that I should use the fan they give me, but to reposition?
Would it work to lash it onto the other side of the heatsink (like Voltaire suggested in a roundabout way) in an effort to no longer fail?

Admittedly, that would probably solve the said ''problem'', but forget not to stay in touch with the ''temperatures'' in this thing called BIOS. If all is well, the failing should be a thing of the past.

Edit: Oh, and before you leave my office, remember you can always replace the fan if the cord is too short or if you want better/more silent cooling.

I think there's another PCIx1 slot between the two PCI x16's...
So unless you use dual slot coolers, you could probably fit your card in there.
Also, you could try and mount the fan on the other side, as the other members of this forum have "nicely" told you to do so.
