DFI LANPARTY DK P35-T2RS which CPU cooler? - Page 2

TRUE works if you put the fan blowing air upwards.

TRU works normally i think.

ACF7Pro works fine - Fan touches NB but that's nothing to worry about.

Xigmatech works if you point it up (i think thats what Ch3f said in his thread??)

Tuniq i think you need to trim a bit off..

I reckon DFI purposely did this, so there would be more NB heatsink removals, therefore fewer warranties to maintain, in turn saving them bucketloads of cash from failed OC's and burnt up boards.

The Zalman 9700 fits on the DK P35. I know it's not the greatest cooler out there, but it will fit.

ch3f had to remove the NB.

But the true works and isn't it bigger than the vendetta 2 and the xigmatech? I don't mind pointing the fan up.

I guess I'll just try it.

But any other suggested heatsinks are appreciated.

I'll update this as i get the system assembled.

The Noctua fits just fine and a decent cooler in my honest opinion.

The Tuniq Tower 120 fits fine with DFI's NB. The Vendetta2 isn't even that good.

Go with the TRUE since both XIG and OCZV2 will void the warranty.

Why do you say that? It is better than the Tuniq Tower and matches the TRUE in some tests.

The Vendetta2 never matches the TRU1E in proper tests. TRU1E's need fans that have extremely high air pressure ratings, which usually means 120+CFM. Every review of the Vendetta2 I've seen that compares it to the TRU1E, the TRU1E is using some crap @$$ 50CFM fan.

It's equal to the TT120, but it can only be mounted one way, the TT120 can do a 360.

Try the CoolerMaster GeminII..... The height is good enough for the northbridge

The Tuniq takes some modification which has been repeated several times. So I wouldn't use "fine" to describe it.

Incase anyone hasn't seen it yet go here... http://csd.dficlub.org/forum/showpos...3&postcount=49

Part of the H clamp has to be removed to clear the NB. Also this guy used 1mm rubber disks on top to keep the TT's fan from hitting the chipset cooler when dropped in.

As to the original poster's concern ask over at... http://www.csd.dficlub.org/forum/index.php
Forum dedicated to all things DFI.

Here is a test on some of the best air CPU coolers on the market. The Thermalright Ultra 120 Extreme performs the best with the fan listed in the article.
