Thanks lin, I thought so.
At least he said one thing nice: the mobo suggestion.
I would say to your customer to not sli now. Why? He can afford another 8800gts 640mb later, maybe for a cheaper price. But if, in one year, he wants to upgrade his processor to a quad 45nm he can't unless he buys new motherboard. (Or just convince him to spend 40$ more to afford a mobo that he will have the possibility to upgrade without changing his mobo, saving some bucks in the future).

Also i'd go with this ram kit: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...L0A-_-20231145

ps: did you think about buying an used 8800gts 640mb? Maybe you can afford one for a nice price.

I appreciate all of your responses, but I really wish people would begin to read the OP.
If you would see, I wrote this:

All of these components listed are at the correct price range for the amount he would like to spend on the build. The budget does not allow for a penny more, but if I can save him a buck or two, that would be great. I always try to do right by my customers, as I hope all of you do as well.
You see, he is already going SLI because he bought this card a while back so he could go SLI later. The "later" is NOW. That 750i motherboard is another $45. I understand it it easy to say, "for another $20 you could get this", or just $45 more can get you this".

Forget it, I'll wait till I see Tai, Chozart, or CD and ask them. Or maybe I'll just go to [H]ardForum like I used to. There are more professional system builders who know what "budget" means.

Thanks anyway guys.

I didn't see that at the Egg before. Thank you and rep+!

Perhaps it wasn't at that price the other day when I was throwing stuff in my shopping cart.

Get a Q6600. Its slightly more, and its a great future-proofing idea. He would thank you in 2 years or so.

And a HX520 or TX650 are solid power supplies (as stated before).

Oh yeah, that drive is pretty expensive for only 250GB. I would opt for on this:

He'll be having me build him a new rig in a year anyway. I'll get him a quad then along with whatever the newest GPU technology is out at the time. he does not need the best and most expensive at all times, just better than the average performance and slightly higher than average in price is fine by him.

But the time I build him a quad system, people will probably be running 8 cores for gaming and 4 GPUs at the highest end.
