I have no more interest in this game. Personally the PvP did not meet my expectations. I really liked Shadowbane style PvP, so I can't blame AoC.
Why didn't the PvP interest you if you like SB? It's basically freaking FFA on the PvP servers, and if I remember correctly (which I do)...it was about the same thing in SB. People getting butchered left and right, everywhere. Good times, IMO. The PvP servers are somewhat similar to the Mordred rule-set on DAOC. I have heard PvP is a lot more fun on Age of Conan from several of my hardcore PvP friends…

From what I have seen, this is far from a WoW clone. Every single MMO that comes out from now on is automatically going to be a ‘WoW clone’ just because of how much Blizzard did with the MMO genre. From what my room mate has seen and from what my close friends have told me, this is far from a clone. I don’t think this will surpass WoW subscription wise, but to be honest, WAR has a good chance…
I can’t say much about the whole swinging system because I haven’t played it personally, but the majority of the people I have talked too, and from when I was watching my room mate play it…it looks like a lot more engaging experience.
EDIT: Also, if anyone is interested, we have a guild froming that's already 30+ people from two extremely successful WoW guilds. Send me a PM if you want to join up...I'll tell you were we are rolling and what my name is.Edited by Elyaas - 5/14/08 at 9:34am
