Anyone familiar with AOpen brand gfx cards?

Thread Starter
I decided to replace my 1900gt for my new comp. I was a bit of a budget, so after comparing reviews, benchmarks, and price, I figured a 9600gt would be a good buy. I got the cheapest brand I could find of it, which was AOpen. Only problem is, I can’t find any info about that particular make of card. Maybe it’s not sold in the US (I live in Japan, though I’m not finding much info on the Japanese sites either). Anyway, it’s the AOpen F96GT. Anybody know anything about this?

Iirc, AOpen is affiliated with Acer behind the scenes. If its your only option then may have to get that card. I wouldnt personally get an aopen video card if I had other options - can you find an Asus branded card instead?

Correct, Aopen is a subsidiary of Acer. They changed their name for a while to BenQ in the UK and still seem to be trading under both names.

I would agree, buy ASUS or MSI. Aopen is the Acer budget line and is about as reliable as anything by linksys.

Well Im not 100% on this, but Im pretty sure that the "brand" name is just that... Your buying a nvidia 9600 gt with A-Open heatsink, customer service and warranty. In which case evga has about the best you can ask for, including warranty still valid with overclocking..

I dont know what you are spending but here is a PNY Verto 9600 GT for 144$

Good luck
