Thanks!!! The sad thing is that is my gaming rig!!! My folding rig is air cooled and running in my Zero case. Sounds like you are running about the same speed 6 min a % on good jobs this will be close (you must have a faster OS)

Here is the thread on my Zero Case http://www.overclock.net/case-mod-wo...ml#post5486489

6min a %, that's impressive. I'm running a little over 7min. I'd have to pump the vcore to be competitive with you guys, I just don't know how my chip will like it.

6 mins per %??? I wish!!!

Actually it's between 6 mins & 7 mins. My best so far was 6:30 per %.

So if Ranger is running at 6 mins per %. That's untouchable.

*whispers to Mikecdm* "I'm fairly sure he's running a dangerously high vcore.
When you red line an engine, you might win the race, but you also might burn out the engine"

Good luck Ranger! I hope you can red line for an entire month without

My test rig if it ever rolls though again, is around 6 min 35 seconds per percentage.

Well guys it was an interesting day, my test rig should turn in a point for snoopy around noon tomorrow. My main rig fried a ram stick, and I am now out of backup's. So I have 2 sets that need rma'ing.

My plan was simple. Figure out where I was having bottlenecks. I replaced my Arctic Cooler with a Xigmatec, resulting in a -7C load difference. From there I was able to bump up the Vcore a little to run at the same load temps. By bumping up the Vcore I was able to to increase the FSB. Then I replaced the Gskill 800's with some Gskill 1066's and those are overclocked as well, and the timings are 5-5-5-12. That really boosted the SMP times.
Then I realized that the Vmware was using up valuable resources. Virtual machines are never as fast as the pure OS. So I decided to run the Linux SMP in a pure Linux environment. That also resulted in a performance increase.
My current times on the Gromacs CVS core are about 6mins 10secs to 6mins 20secs

Since you guys cannot keep up I may turn down my rig back to 4.5 GHz @ 1.32V it will run that at 6 min 10 sec - 6 min to 20 sec a %...By the way the key word was running close to 6 min a % it is more like 6 min - 6 min 10 second.

Jade you better start shoveling some more snow so you can better yourself...I am currently saving for a new E8700 that should be fun

Been working on getting my rig back up, bad windows install caused some problems. Almost back up to 100% though so no worries, you'll see a new active processor on my F@H page cause I had to reinstall Mint.
