On prime95 my load temps are now 43-47. I had to hardwire the 9700 fan to the ps so that it would put out more air flow.

I could post with 500 fsb with an 8 multi but I was not stable enough and temps were a wee bit high. I am liking the 4.24 so far. In the morning I will run folding in windows for a day or so and see how that goes before my Linux install.

Jade, this is a very nice chip!
Yes, it is. You might try Danbeme32

Keep the multi at 9X and snoopy83

Just PM me. OK? gibsonnova74

Wow nice job H00chi3! I still don't understand how you guys get those awesome temps. I'm running in the 50's at load. What kind of fans you do you have?

Me too. Keep getting 2665's over and over, it's driving me crazy. Should have this one finished in about an hour.

Well this cpu is lapped and I lapped the 9700. Plus it is 70°F in my apartment so that helps. As for fans, the only thing I have is the 9700 fan with direct current instead of using the mobo headers.

Super nerd dork question. Right now I am using an IDE drive until my sata drive gets here, that wouldn't have an effect on my speed of output would it? I don't think it would, but it never hurts to ask huh.

That won't effect your folding.

Not at all. I use an old 30 gig IDE. The data pretty much stays in the memory, and it occassionally writes half a meg or so per %. When it goes to upload, my HD doesn't even light up. All the data is in the ram.

So how high have you gotten that little guy stable? 4.3Ghz?

Sitting at 4.249 right now. I am waiting for some fans to get here, stuff like that. I booted at 4.5 (9*500) and 4.4 (8*550), but temps were a little high.
