Are you sure you didn't have windows update on? Linux Mint has memtest built in.....

When I 1st started having this problem it was with error's vm client. Just for cores 0/1, 2/3 was still going like gangbusters. I then tried notfreds and although it was using 2 cores it was a pain to put in the pw/un. So I got bal3wolf's running and it is still good as of now.
I did download a bunch of other vm clients including the Mint 7.1 client. Would the Mint run better on my machine? I can get, with my pc not being used for other things, on average 2200 for cores 0/1 and about 2000 for the next 2 cores. I think it is not bad and for the 1st two cores my times can get to about 12:15/%, about 21 hours or so.
