Computer Will Not Boot - Page 3

I remember that before I put my new HDD in, my old one hadn't done it for a good while, So, I'll try putting that back in and see if it does it... Then, If it doesn't, format my current one and use it as a secondary... *sigh*

Would I just plug the old one in, then once it's booted, plug the new one in and formatt it through Windows?

ok.......

remove SP1 & try the other software....run that for a while if it BSODs again
remove the lot & stress the machine if it does not crap out its software related
if it does .....ITS THE RAM !!!!!

that's about all i can suggest at this point ....what a pointless HDD purchase

I tried a restore point a while back, that didn't have SP1, and it still BSOD'd on me

I'm trying my old HDD now... How do I un-install nVidia Drivers, I can't find them in CCleaner or Remove and Install....

I think it may be to do with them, both HDD's had 169.44 drivers on them, at the moment, I don't think I have nVidia drivers and it "seems" to be Ok.

What drivers would you recomend? The newest Beta ones, or the newest WHQL ones?

It still BSOD's on me... I'm really running out of ideas!

At the moment, I have both HDD's in there, the old WD with the OS on and the new Seagate as a secondary.

For some reason, I cannot format my Seagate HDD. I right clicked on it in 'My Computer' Clicked 'Format' and it gets to the end, after a good while, and says "Windows Cannot Complete the Format"...

I restarted my computer and got an 0x00001A BSOD on start-up.

I really, really, don't know what to do... May just sell my whole computer! Forget it, Wast of ****** time!

this is what u need to do........set optimized defaults in bios ''remove'' the ballistix & find an old pair of 512 sticks from somewhere & chuck them in
then fire up & stress it....i bet u that will solve the problem

bloody ballistix

also set the GPU to stock

it cant be software related ...u rolled the rig back & then performed a fresh install

i know it must be frustrating it would pi** me off no end ..

dont give up just yet....but if u do i will take ur GTS !!!! lol

if someone else has any ideas for Kornowski ...please now is the time before we lose him to the games console forever !!!!!

the only things I can think of that might be related to your problem is:

In BIOS set your Hard Drive Access mode to LBA
Unplug PC, press power button to get all power out. Plug back in
Reset CMOS
Try some different ram.

I know right now you're really mad at your computer. I've had alot of problems with mine, I find the best thing is just to turn it off, and leave it alone for a while, till i'm not so angry. Then get back to fixing it.

I don't have any other RAM that I could try... I mean, it's passed Memtest, that should means it's stable and has no errors, right?

I'm thinking it may be the 169.44 nVidia Drivers, because both HDD's had them on?

LBA, Where would I find that, what does it do?
I'll try resetting the CMOS, Thanks for the help!

I've had so many different BSOD's;

0x00008A
0x000019
0x00000A
0x0000C5
0x0000D1

Not good.
