The stability issue, can really come up from nowhere and bite you right where it hurts. I overclocked my current processor to 3.8 which was stable in orthos for around an hour. So I left it... Temps were nice, games didn't crash.
I also use this pc to run simulations for work, that run for hours at a time at 100%. It would crash after about 20mins. I'd imagine image processing will be hurt too.
Orthos and prime95 really work the computer hard though!!! I have a few other stability tests and the all pass fine when orthos might fail after a few hours.
I personally think this is an indication of how thorough orthos and prime95 are and how hard they push the pc rather than these programs giving false failures.
