I like consoles for everything but MMO's and RTS's. I'll play an MMO on my Console as long as i can use a keyboard like FFXI but other than that Computers can handle RTS's alot better than Consoles can because the procsessor power and Ram.

The auther of the article is clearly an idiot and is trying to jump onto the "pc gaming is dying" bandwagon. Dell have clearly stated that the closure of the XPS line is due to it taking away alienware sales. Even in his article he states that and then somehow draws the conclusion that it is actually to do with dwindling pc sales.

Not to mention the source for the data doesnt include digital purchases as LegendaryC pointed out.

Also MMO's are a part of the market too. You cant simply discount them since WOW has the biggest market share. They are a valid pc game and should count towards the income generated in the pc gaming "sector".

We would never buy the game if I couldn't pirate it. I have only bought two Xbox games ever. Halo 2 & Halo 3. That's it.

The only PC games I've bought (recently, since I've started torrenting) were Oblivion and H2V.

My thoughts exactly, I don't think it was surprising that the very next day alienware announced a new entry level pc gaming machine.

Having said that, I'm growing more and more disturbed with the lack of PC games on the store shelves, particularly EB and Gamestop. Some of my local stores don't even keep PC games on the shelves, you have to ask them to get you a game from the back.

I own all three next gen consoles but I still keep my PC as my primary gaming machine. Does make me a bit worried though when I see how many games have had their hearts ripped out just so they could be put on a console; Rainbow six and COD in particular. Just makes me wonder where PC gaming will be 5-10 years from now.

Thats my 2 cents.

Don't know if this has been brought up yet, but Dell owns Alienware, so they have no use in maintaining the XPS brand.

I totally agree with this. By all means if you feel Dell is a half-cooked company that shouldn't be in business then say so but please back that up with experience and/or facts. I personally have nothing against Dell. People should remember that us cats on OCN are but a teeny spec in the sandy beaches of computer-dom. For people that don't need the hand-crafted, fire-breathing, binary assault that is each or our sig rigs, Dell works. My mom has one and loves it.

With Game in the UK they have all started to reduce the amount of space they give over to pc games. Especially in the smaller stores as there are more consoles to cater for now. But for the most part they still stock lots of stuff out on the floor, the chart, midrange stuff and the re-published old stuff (like the sold-out ranges etc).

Speaking on COD, having played it on both console and pc, not only does it look superior on a PC, it is so much better to play on a pc. I say this with an about equal ability at pc fps and console fps.
