Hitching, Freezing, Stuttering, Ect.

Hello,

I could use some help. I built my computer about 6 months ago and have been having some problems on games that I play. On all my games I keep experiencing, stuttering, hitching, lagging, or what ever you want to call it. For example I play Eve-Online with all the bells and whistles an can run it at 200FPS. Though randomly when I turn the camera or something I will drop down to 10FPS. The list of games that I’ve played and experience this are:

Company of Heroes
Eve Online
Vanguard
Cyrsis
Lord of the Rings Online
Age of Conan Beta

My system is as follows:

EVGA 680SLI Mother Board
2X 8800 Ultras in SLI
4 X 1GB of Dominator 1066 MHz RAM
2 X 150GB Raptors in RAID 0
Windows Vista X86
Creative Labs X-Fi Fatality soundcard (recent addition problem has been there before it)
Intel QX6800 CPU
Roswell 850W PSU
Enough fans to blow away anything
Drivers currently are Beta 175.16 but have experienced this on all drivers.

Does anyone have any ideas that might be causing this? Is it even possible that it could be the internet connection or something else? I’m looking for any advice ( I have Mem-tested my RAM repeatedly no fails) Also no overclocks on the system Im not sure if its hardware, software, or just the games I’ve been playing but it just seems odd how much it happens on games.

id say its either ur mobo or ur cpu, but mobo is more likely.

edit: try flashing ur bios to an earlier/(later if possible) version, that may help, but i doubt that aswell. u may just have a lemon, but ill need sum extra help from other ocn members *looks around to see nothing but windy hot desert with many a tumbleweed* on this mobo.

I have terrible minimum frame rates in Crysis when turning the camera suddenly i will get a a huge drop in frame rate. I believe it's caused by Multi GPU configurations with GPU's like the 9800GX2. I wouldn't expect it with 2x Ultras.

Try disabling SLI mode and/or downloading the new (official) nvidia forceware drivers. They just released the 175.16 signed drivers.

All your games are MMOs other than crysis, and crysis is known for having bad frames and issues like that. The things you are experiencing is common with alot of MMOs because of network utilization, however it shouldn't happened often... Once a hour tops.

I blame wrong SLI rendering setting, or network. Disable SLI and see if it goes away.

Incorrectly set RAM timings can also cause this, but its rare.

Shot in the dark, but take out 2gigs of ram and see if it still happens. You are on a 32bit OS with 4GIGs, which is not recommended and can lead to issues. Get 64bit vista as soon as possible.

I'd also recommend upgrading your drivers as the WHQL version of 175.16s was just released.

If all else fails I'd reformat before blaming hardware, this can also be caused by a OS that just needs to be reformatted.... Install 64-bit if possible.

All my drivers are up to date.

Also, changing the settings for my SLI dont seem to be making a diffrence.

Are there any tests it could be?

Could it be i need to OC my PC in some areas?
