Forgot about that, it's a more recent development, so I often do. If he's folding on GPUs+CPUs then he has just about the worst case scenario that his rig will use. He might be able to eek out a little more energy consumption if he ran HDTest suites in a constant loop, but he's already having to feed it baby seals to keep it running.

I actually would not run the GPU F@H 24/7 simply because my room would become a sauna, just curios what the power draw would be though.

Wow.......$34 a year.....oh no.......guess I better take out a loan

I can cut energy costs elsewhere in my apartment and save WAY more money.

I was very surprised at how much energy my rig was consuming. When my 8800GTX took a dive, I was down for over 3 mo's. My electric bill cut in half. I didn't change anything else in my house. I folded 24/7 and gamed 18-25 hrs a week. my electric bill avg'd 350.00usd. for the time I was down (DEC-APR) I avg'd 125.00usd. My wife said she'd destroy my gaming rig if I started folding again. I hope she doesn't figure out my other 3 computers are folding.(hehe)

LOL, she's going to PWN you! I'm sure the electric bill would cut in half for my place if I turned my rig off for a month......but that will NEVER happen!

I don't run mine for really long periods anymore, though my main rig has been on for a week solid in the past.

I can't see my electric bill being that much difference and maybe because I have no idea what I am talking about but if my entire system were to max out my 750W power supply, could I not just replace 8 light bulbs with Compact FL and even out.

You're on the right track. If you replaced 17 60W bulbs with CFLs that used ~17W then you'd save enough power if all the lightbulbs were left on constantly before the change.

True we do not leave them on all the time, probably an average of 8 hours a day and at least 50% of the lights (Thanks to the wife and child) and we typically replace our lights with the 60W equivalent (which I think it 13W?). We currently have 25 lights in our house that we can or have already replaced with CFLs. So in the end with my system folding 24/7 and I am sure no where near the rated capacity of my PS (I would actually guess less than half) then it would probably even out, correct?
