please help me build a comp for $850

Thread Starter
I'm 2 weeks out from getting a new computer. I've been doing a bit of research and have gotten myself nice and confused, could you fine people help me build a computer under the parameters below?

1. build has to be under 850 including shipping. MIR unfortunately won't count.
2. I want to use this computer for Warhammer online (when it arrives), Orange Box, and be fairly future proof.
3. I have a 1440x900 display,copy of windows xp, keyboard,mouse, speakers.
4. I'd like to get Vista if possible, but that can be a purchase down the road.

thanks in advance for any suggestions!

Do you need any other peripherals in the price? Are you in the US? If so, what state (for tax and shipping issues)?
Once again...

Well - Try these:

http://www.newegg.com/product/produc...82E16811144151
Apevia X-Cruiser Case $74.99 ($15MIR)
http://www.newegg.com/product/produc...82E16817182030
Rosewill 550W SLI PSU $74.99
http://www.newegg.com/product/produc...82E16822136098
WD 320GB 7200RPM Hard Drive $69.99
http://www.newegg.com/product/produc...82E16813188017
EVGA 650i Nforce Motherboard $99.99 ($30 MIR)
http://www.newegg.com/product/produc...82E16819115028
E6850 Core 2 Duo Processor $184.99
http://www.newegg.com/product/produc...82E16835118019
Zalman 9700 LED $69.99
http://www.newegg.com/product/produc...82E16814130333
EVGA 8800GS Superclocked $139.99 ($30 MIR)
http://www.newegg.com/product/produc...82E16820148076
Crucial Balistix Tracer 2x1GB $60.99 ($30 MIR)
http://www.newegg.com/product/produc...82E16827106073
Lite-On DVD Burner SATA $26.99

When I throw those in the cart...It comes to $783 plus $30 for shipping. Thats about $810 out the door - not even counting the rebates you will recieve.

I personally have built a few systems with that 650i board and I love it for mid-budget builds. If you want to upgrade the GPU - you could probably take the 8800GT if you scrimp on the tracers or the Zalman down to something a tad cheaper.

Anyway - I built this exact set-up for a buddy less than a month ago and he absolutely loves it.

I threw this together rather fast, but it's a descent build. I built my friend one almost exactly the same and he has no complaints.

I got vista home and everything one should need except for a case, I'm not so great at picking cases.

With shipping to me it leaves 80$ for a case.
I somewhat like this case + its cheap.

I built that exact set-up a couple weeks ago....

With the stock cooler - Core Temps were 51, 50

with the Zalman - they were 33,34

That's with no overclock. So - yes - the stock cooler is that bad. Not to mention that I simply don't trust the mounting system the stock heatsinks use. It always seems like one of the push-in screws is ready to pop out at any time.
