Crysis - very high

Thread Starter
I am trying to run crysis at 1600 by 1200 very high resolution, and I have 8800GTX SLI, Q6600 (not overclocked), 4GB RAM, but recognizes 2.5GB because im running windows vista 32-bit and my board is 780SLI EVGA board. I don't understand why I'm getting less than 20 fps and my computers temperature is around 40 degrees celcius (is that normal). Any Suggestions?

Is 20 FPS your Average FPS, or your lowest?

No it goes lower sometimes to even less than 8fps and sometimes its at 30 average I would say is around 30 when I start playing after a while its down to about 15 and sometimes lower, I dont use any AA or AF.

Hmmm, the only thing I can think of is maybe your CPU is bottlenecking your Graphcis cards, even though it's a Quad. Go to the Intel section and read the Stick about how to OC, and see if you can maybe get to 3 GHz with that chip.

Do you suggest I upgrade to 64-bit vista or could it be another reason why im lagging horribly in the game?

64-bit would let you use all 4 GBs of RAM, which would be nice.

But do you believe this will solve the lag issue?

We have basically the same computers and I get about the same frames as you but at 1920x1200... But I am overclocked so thats normal.

You won't be able to max crysis at that resolution on your computer... Or really any computer.

I would disable motion blur/depth of field because that has the biggest performance impact.
