I concur.

*EDIT* I was also thinking 7800GTX because I have one that I used to use in my main rig, but I since replaced it and it is just sitting in a box doing nothing. Would this be better than something like an 8500GT or 9600GSO? The price is certainly right, free haha. I cannot find the 9600GSO on NewEgg, when will it be available?
The 7800GTX would be way better than a 8500GT, but the 9600GSO (which is just a renamed 8800GS...go look for it on newegg) is probably a little better than the 7800GTX.

Go to http://www.gpureview.com/ and you can compare the 7800GTX to the 8800GS.

Neither of these PCs will be overclocked. I don't want to have to deal with stability issues and I need them to last a very long time.

Ugh. I'm still not sure lol. I don't want to get too powerful, but more power is better than not enough.

Here, I took the liberty to link the comparison of the 7800GTX to the 8800GS/9600GSO http://www.gpureview.com/show_cards....=310&card2=551

That 7800GTX is still quite a good card, and if it's just sitting around, I say put that in.

Don't know how the cooler would hold up if your o'c ing, since it's clocked at reference specs.

How about try out the 7800gtx, and if it doesn't work as well as you like, get an upgrade to fix it

I think if I just give her my 7800GTX, I could have her buy a Q9450 for me with the savings, and then I would give her my Q6600...
