Intel Core 2 Duo E7200 2.53GHz

Hi all,

This is a new thread about the E7200 @ 2.53ghz

I'm buying a E7200 for £84.50 + £4.50 P + P = £89.00

Here is the info on the processor

Clock: 2.53ghz
Tech: 45nm
Bus: 1066 mhz
FSB: 266 mhz x 9.5

My plans are to over clock it to

Clock: 3.16ghz
Bus: 1333
FSB: 333 mhz x 9.5

And the max i want to push it to is

3.29ghz
Bus: 1385 mhz
FSB: 346 mhz x 9.5

I have been told i can't push the Vcore over 1.34v so i think 3.16ghz is the max i could get? please advise

even thought eh CPU's arnt that vcore friendly overclockers have been able to get that CPU pritty high. now the main thing is dont go over the vcore limit. these new dual core 45nm cpu's do tend to overheat quickely.

the best thing to do it actually max the vcore to the recommended limit then just start to up the FSB by 10 each time. stress test then up agian. you should be abel to get to bout 3.40. but even then thats just an estimated guess.

Cool i'll be happy with it getting to 3.16ghz that is the same as a E8500 at stock

not even, don't be surprised if you can go 4ghz @ 1.3v, 650i, max FSB 400-450ish?
9.5x 450? Possible.

It'll be an awesome upgrade from ur p4

bloody hell 4 ghz now that is amazing esp on my motherboard and chippy 650i. That must just burn the processor up i don't think i will push it that fair. maybe 3.2 or 3.4 after
post #6 of 13
But you should keep up with the same clocks on the p4

But yea i find hardly any difference from my stock 2.33ghz to 3.8ghz playing cod4 anyway. High clocks are mostly for show anyway.

at 3.2/3.4ghz you might be able to acheive with 1.1-1.2 volts. You won't know until you get your cpu.

Alot of games are GPU limited thats why i want to SLi my GPU next

Cool as long as it last for 6 to 8 months i'll be happy

so you think i should aim for 3.6ghz the same as stock 661

This chip seems to be overclocking better than the E8xxx bloody hell 4ghz on vcore lower than 1.3v now thats some chip and its only £84 + 5 p+p a E8500 is £170 - £180
