RMA packaging

Thread Starter
Well, Gigabyte is Expecting my motherboard soon, but im not sure how to ship it exactly, i don't want to ship it all hardcore giant box like and what not if i don't need too, i have alot of small sheets of foam, if i put a bunch of that in the mobobox, and just wrapped her up, and shipped it, would that do?
What im really asking is.. Well, how should i Pack my mobo up?

*only rma he has done was his hp laptop, in which they sent me the box to send to them*

Thanks.

I would probably send the whole lot back to them, just to be sure they don't ask for it later. But then the only way to be absolutely sure what they'll accept, would be to ask them personally.

Call and ask them. Some RMAs require everything (parts) in same packaging, and find a tight box with some of that wrap to hold it tight. Their gonna send it back safely either way.

Put in the static bag and use the foam. And wrap her up.

Make sure that the mobo is sealed in an Anti-static bag!!!!
Then just wrap it in bubble wrap and slap her in a box with a bit of foam or something just to stop it moving about in transit.

I would recommend shipping it back exactly as you received it. This would rduce complications, like for example, Gigabyte not accepting your board. If you were to ask a Gigabyte staff member, my guess is that they would give you the same answer. One time, I could not return a camera one of my clients did'nt want beacause he had lost a piece of crdboard which was in the box

They should say with the rma instructions. Most places dont want anything else with your mobo. ALso they usually wont return anything else with your mobo when they send you a new one also so remember that. I know evga for one specifically says do not include anything with your vid cards for rma.

Make sure you use anti static wrap or bag as stated because if they decide that shipping was what caused the damage then you could be out a mobo.

From all the RMAs i have done, they usually only want the main product, in this case the board. I would get a anti static bag and then bubble wrap it and stick it in a box with packing peanuts
