It doesn't sound too good. You should try to hotwire it to see if the psu will even turn on if you can't get it running. This is how it's done. And I seem to remember telling you to be cautious about buying this psu. Hopefully you can get it to run.

well i put the old psu back in. The new one didnt work, im gonna get my money back tomorrow, even if it means manually ripping it out of his wallet xD

Well I said it was worth a try, if it still worked it would have been a good deal . Do you need a new psu or just going to get it because you could?

Also, you can open up the power supply and check it for two easy symptoms:
1) Are any capacitors blown? The little black capsule things are capacitors, if they are bulged out the PSU is dead.

2) Is the fuse blown? If the fan isn't spinning but power is getting to the Mobo the fuse might be causing that.

Otherwise, check your RAM and run only mobo power, no HD's or CD's or anything else. Sometimes Ram makes the board do weird things. Maybe you should buy a new PSU and kick whoever you got that one from

well i've had this one for like 12 years now, and im getting really high temps as well so i thought id need a new one :S

yea i opened it there was white gooey stuff inside :S
