3.8 E8400 stable as a rock - Page 3

My balistix are stable at 1014mhz all day, my E8400 is stable at 3.8ghz and 1.344v, i dont think it will go any lower and be stable...

But thats 214mhz overclock on the ram... if you want to push your cpu farther just unlink your ram from the FSB

You think that 1.28 Vcore is high?????????? I have to run my 3110 at 1.37 to run stable at 4.1Ghz. From what everyone has said it seems to be going beyond 1.38 gets you into the danger zone, but if I end up frying it I'll probably just buy a Quad and throw it in there.

corsair balistix's changed the chips they were using to some new brand and now there not as overclockable like they used to be, guess I got them new chips. in any event I want unable to stabalize my system with 4x1Gig sticks oc'd to 850Mhz each so what I did was took 2 of them out and now I've got 2x1Gig sticks and wouldn't yeah know it the system is stable again... So far 3hrs into othos and still ticking.

I think what I'm gonna do is get 2 decent 2gb 1066Mhz ram sticks... any suggestions on some good overclockable ram to get, price isn't a concern. ????

What about corsair dominators for memory ???

Also I'm so far 9hrs Othos Stable running the following specs.
Ratio: 425x9
Vcore: 1.34
NB: 1.41
Memtimings: 5-5-5-15 2.0v
All other settings are set to auto.

I'm thinking that using 4 1 Gig sticks of ram was holding me back the whole time as I was able to now finally hit a stable point with just 2 sticks of ram. Who knows what the case may be but it's time I upgrade the ram again. Started with 2x2Gig patriots and then moved to 4x1gig corsair ballistix tracers and now onto something better and faster.

So far I'm $5000+ into this pc build, that includes cost of watercooling parts as well.

I'm attaching a pic to show the stability and specs of my rig.

Ok I took my OC a little further.
8x475 ratio putting my ram sticks oc'd to 950Mhz each at 2.14v ... Is 2.14v to much voltage for them running at 950Mhz OC'd from 800Mhz ?
