Micro ATX Vs ATX

Thread Starter
What is the difference between the two?

Is there a huge performance difference?

I will be using this for overclocking an Intel E2180 to about 3.0Ghz or more... How well do you think this mobo could handle it? (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16813128078)

Thanks

It might be ok, there arent nearly as many options (voltage, ram dividers, etc) but i would think you could still get it to 2.8 ish 3 if your really lucky.

The only downside to that board i see is MAX of 2GB of ddr2 800 ram.

Micro boards tend not to overclock as well. All the Micro boards I have (3 of them, 2 ecs and 1 MSI) are limited to increasing the FSB by only 32. Not much OC potential there.
You also usually have only 2 memory slots and they have the cheaper hardware. Some PCI-e slots on them are also only 8x, not 16x.

Yes it will support 2x2GB

If you are planning to go mATX and onboard video then currently AMD is a bette r choice.

The AMD 780G is an epic chipset and pair that with an X2 5000 Black Edition and you have a 3.2Ghz+ monster.
