well let me just say 65 is the max for that chip. i idle at 35-40 on a hot day. that at 1.47 volts and 3.7

ur at 3.0 and already at 50...50 is my load temps

so if you just want to over clock for fun tonight til you get your new heat sink tomorrow...start at all stock voltage and bring it up slowly like 2.6...then 2.8...watch the temp

I'm actually going to pick up a new heatsink tomorrow, suggestions? Also, what's a good temp to be running at?

cant go wrong with a true....

get a quite 120 fan to go with it...just keep your temps under 65. 70 is the max. so depends on how high you want to get it up to. i say 3.6 easy with the true.

oh also go to user cp (options) and fill out your rig info...helps us better in the future.

Ok, these guys have been kind of off the point with their one sentence responses.

You should NEVER see an idle of 50c. Ever. That is VERY bad. First, what kind of thermal paste are you using? I recommend Arctic Silver 5, its tested and true. Also, do not OVERUSE thermalpaste!! You can get negative results, and actually INCREASE CPU temp! Try re-applying your thermal paste, and also re-seat your stock cooler, it may not be getting complete contact. Also, @ 3.0ghz, 1.3v isnt bad. Im pretty sure thats stock voltage. If anything you could probably increase this if you are going to OC further. Another thing to look at is your airflow. Is your case getting enough airflow? If air is just SITTING in your case doing nothing, all your components will just heat up and that is no good. A good exhaust fan \\ intake fan solves a lotttt of problems.

Hope this helps.
