if you have a seagate HD, i think you should download MaxBlast to do the partition. It should be better....i think.

Alright, So, First, Format it with DBAN, then I need to partition it?

If somebody could write some instructions or something, I know I'm being a real 'n00b', but it'd help me out a lot! Thanks!

For DBAN:

1) Download PowerISO
2) Download the DBAN file on the website, it should be in zip format and you open it and drag the .iso file to your desktop.
3) Open PowerISO, and select the "Open" menu tab
4) Find the .iso file that you placed on your desktop, and select it.
5) Once you have opened it, make sure that you either have a blank CD/DVD in your disk drive and click on the "Burn" menu.
6) This will prompt you to the burning on the .iso onto your CD/DVD, I would suggest you choose 4x or 8x as the speed in order to avoid it skipping anything important.
7) After it has completed you enter the DBAN CD/DVD in the computer you wish to have the HDD cleared. Turn it on and make it boot from the CD-ROM.
8) Once it has booted you can choose from the menu of what you want to do. "autonuke"

Hopefully this has answered your question about how to work DBAN

Thanks for that!

So, unplug the drive I want to keep the information on and only have the one I want to erase in the compute. Autonuke it, then I should be able to install Windows on it?
