ASUS Maximus Formula (non SE) VS Gigabyte EX38-DS4

Thread Starter
Hey,

I was this close to get the EX38-DS4, but the store has the Maximus Formula for a good price.

Which one is better? What do you guys recommend?

Going to use with my specs, only things that are yet to be bought are the motherboard and ram.

Thanks a lot.

I would go with the Asus Maximus formula but then its a personal preference of mine to go with Asus over Gigabyte. The Asus board also has alot of neat features if you're into overclocking.

Can't go wrong with either one. I tried them before. They are good. If price is the factor, get the DS4. Otherwise, Asus one.

Look in the Intel motherboard section, there is a whole thread on x38 boards, mostly the Maximus.

I love my Maximus, took me 2-3 hours tops to hit my max overclock on my quad (3.4 sadly) and I have spent many many hours since then tweaking it and playing with it.

From your PM I thought you already had the EX38DS4....

Since you haven't bought yet, go for the Maximus if price is not the consideration. I've been building systems for nearly 25 years, and quite simply the Maximus shines above all the others by far.
