e6750 Temp confusion, please help

Thread Starter
Hi everyone,

I've become a little confused about the whole temp thing now. And it seems the more I try and read the more conflicting things I hear about which temps are the important ones (Tjunc, Tcase, core etc.)and what is a good tool to measure them.

I was wondering if you guys could just clarify what a good tool is to read the temps on my e6750 and what are good temps to aim to stay under.

Currently I have a mild overclock over 3.2GHz but I want to push that higher. I wanna pull as much as i can out of this chip before I upgrade to a e8400 in a few months...wish I could now but I'm gonna have to wait.

Thanks for your Help

Using Intel Thermal Analysis Tool would work. Speedfan is also a popular choice. Core Temp being another.

Essential Overlclocking Software Kit.

Has all the programs you need to overclock.
CPU-Z = To see info about your processor.
GPU-Z = Info about Video Card
Prime95 = Stress Testing. Use it to test if your overclock is stable
Core Temp = Temperature Monitor.
ATI Tools = Overclock Graphic cards.
Memtest = Test out memory stability. (You probably will not need it but you could use it if you really want stability.)
