Unstable CPU

Thread Starter
When im running the S&M test I get an Error everytime I run it or my computer just shuts down and resets, I cant seem to pass the S&M Test
Anyway I think its because my MB (P5KC) is the one that limits my CPU to a certein temperture that when it reaches that Temp it resets the comp, now my question is, is it possible to change that option and disable it ? (if there is even one)

Btw I must say that Ive OClocked my CPU to 3.1 GHZ (my cpu is Core 2 Quad Q6600) and i change the Vcore voltage to 1.4125
And the memories V to 2.00
and disabled the EIST C1E and SS options

and Btw the Error ive got in S&M Is something with the test was interrupted at the V "X.X" and had 1 time same Error just with 68degrees
I must say that ive tried to pump the Vcore Voltage to 1.425 but it still kept happening and I made a conclusion out of it that its not voltage unstability

Try lower the ram frequency and change the timings to 5-5-5-15 ... and set the ram voltage to auto .. also remove try removing the speed step

hmm the ram fsb ratio is 1:1 so lowring ram equaling lowering fsb
the timing are 5-5-5-15 and ram voltage is 2.0 ill try lower it.
btw about the speed step i have the option to disable it only when the mulitplyer is on auto (which means it change from 6 to 9) but if i lock it on 9 i cant choose to enable or disable the speedstep

disable it, withspeedstep, c1e and eist disabled it should idle at 3.1 with multi at 9....if thats what its set at.

also 68 is pretty hot for 3.2 on a q6600 71 is the limit...

And what is S&M you refer to??

I use either Prime95 or OCCT to test stability

ok, the fact you didnt put anything for cooling tells me your on stock cooling correct?

if so, 1.41v is way to much for stock cooling, especially on a quad

You have some headroom temperature wise, you cna try bumping up your voltage a tad bit.
