Agreed 110%

People who speak poorly of it have likely never tried it.

The only thing I will add (and I wont partake in the name-calling) is that "XP x64 is the best, fastest, most secure and stable OS that Microsoft has ever made" BY LEAPS AND BOUNDS!

Ive never experienced a single driver issue, and I have used it on no less than 3 rigs in the past 6 months.

Never even so much as a hiccup.

When i did my MCSE they gave me all the windows software (XP Pro - Server2003) but it was all 120day trial stuff.

But that was like 2 years ago

I have had personal experiences with both. I did have several driver issues with legacy devices mostly. It was a lil faster but I still prefer Vista x64 over it. Vista is simply more future proof and better supported> I dont want to have to look for work arounds.

You're decision to dual boot is your best choice IMO . . best of luck

NOW.....I want to open this thread back up, because I would like to see further DISCUSSION about this matter.

There seems to be people who really feel that XP x64 is a good way to go and I want to hear INTELLIGENT reasoning.

The next insult, asteric or pissing and moaning gets a 5 point rude infraction.

Eh, I really enjoyed mint! Maybe sometime I'll have to try it again. I put PCLinux on my laptop but I didn't really like it that much so I put Ubuntu 8.04 on it.
EDIT: Maybe I should try Mint on my laptop and keep Ubuntu on my desktop?
