Check your case for turbulence. I have a horrid psu (loud, but moves a whole lot os air whenever it feels like it... when I fire up utorrent, open avant, 20 mins into crysis... argh), and zalman 9700cu, and a gigabyte aurora 3d case.

Aside from the loud psu fan, I have two 120mm's in the back, they move about 10cfm, are dead silent, and I can't feel the air. I mixed this with a 34cfm, fan in the front of the case.

I take into account the psu CFM and 8800 CFM to get this much air. I feel like under load I have a slight vacuum toward the front fan, but I have almost no turbulence.

I used to have this SB overheating issue, where it would idle at 75c, and I had no way to replace the HS because the SB is covered by the back of the 8800 GTX fan... I altered the airflow of the case and voila, It is now 65c idle (still terrible, but it does not BSOD in Oblivion anymore)

You might have TOOO much airflow.
