Thanks for all the help! I'll definitely have pics. I'm looking to buy as soon as I feel comfortable with the build, money is already set aside!

Crap, just went to a third page! Guys, I posted a revised list right above this post (also edited the original post)! Check it out!

Awesome system, man!

Have you considered any fan replacements or are you going to stick with stock? Scythe Slipstreams are incredibly silent and super powerful.

I hadn't really looked into fans. I figure I'll stick with stock and see how they sound/work. I'd hope for a $180 case that I wouldn't have to change the fans, but who knows.

I honestly don't see anything that I would change about this build.

Thanks Kenny

I went out to microcenter today and got my Q9450 ($300) and my Antec Twelve Hundred ($180). Total of a little over $500 including tax. I'm on my way!

30 day no questions asked return policy on the case, so I'll give it a good inspection before I decide to use it.

Alright, I bought most of the parts from Newegg. Decided to just get a 150gb raptor (what I've deep down wanted all along) despite the price. I'll add storage as I need it.

Now, I just need Vista, a worthy keyboard, and a worthy monitor! Oh, and a lapping kit.

My friend keeps telling me I should shell out the money for a 24" since I'm spending all this money on a dual 8800gts system. I want another $500 to play with, please!

If anyone has any helpful guides to building your first computer please link me to them! I've been doing the necessary google research, but am still grateful for anyone else's help! Any special tools I'll need to buy?

just check out build logs all over the site youll see tons of computer being put together and get a good grasp of how it works from pics, for a keyboard i suggest a razer lycosa, and as i said before i think you should get a 22 inch monitor and get another one if you feel like it it will cost same price and be much more fun. if you really want a 24" their not bad so just do what you think will be best for you. oh and that raptor will be fast enjoy it.

I was told earlier in this thread to make sure I get Vista 64bit. Is there any reason for this besides the room to increase RAM? Any downsides?
