Well I haven't seen if you have an AGP slot or PCIe slot. You need to find that out.

If PCIe:
8600GT (doesn't require extra power, will work fine in your machine)

If AGP:
7600GS (DOES require extra power, so be careful there. You MAY need a bigger PSU)

Looks like you're in luck, Harken. I did a little research and the MS-7145 is either a MSI RS-4080M or 4082M, both of which have PCI-e.

Well, Mr. Chipp, what exactly is an MS-7145? Not too sure... but anyways, on the front of the compy, it says that there's a PCI-e slot available under the graphics card info.

Your motherboard model, as you reported it in your system specs.

The 7600GS only needs a power connector because AGP can't deliver as much power as PCI-E

That doesn't mean the 7600GS sucks more power than the 8600GT

Yep it's PCI-E with a 300 watt PSU.Do you have a budget in mind?

Since this is the ATI forum I say a 3450 or 3470,much more than that will require a new PSU.

Well, if I wanted to get the 8600GT, it sounds like I wouldn't necessarily need a new PSU. But, given the chance that I would, would would I need? (Also, the PSU, is that measured in Amps?)

An x550 makes any game *barely* playable.

I don't think that card will run any games well at all. Upgrade.
