Flashing Laptop Bios

Hi guys,

I've been trying update the BIOS on my BENQ Joybook7000 from 2.00 to 2.04. Every time I run the flash exe it doesn't seem to update.

First time I run it it says rebooting within the program window....but doesn't do anything until I run the program again then it reboots. Once it gets back to login a message appears saying its been flashed to 2.04 but it clearly hasn't when I go to look at system information.

When I bought the laptop I had its memory and hard drive upgraded...is this perhaps the reason why? Any potential workarounds?

Any help would be appreciated :3

Just to follow up, I managed to get it to work by repartitioning my drive back to a 10gb windows partition and 40gb documents partition.

15gb of the documents partition was previously set up with ubuntu and the partitioning in this manner seem to affect XP's reliability/stability.

All good now after repartitioning, BIOs upgrade was successful and XP is working perfectly.
