I would guess it is because I flipped my PSU, so the wire would be about 4" closer to the back panel. I am running 2 hdds and it worked fine. I just used a molex/sata adapter. I removed the pins from the molex so I could feed the wires through the smaller holes in the drive bay cage. Then, all I had to do was put the pins back into the molex and plug it in. I did have to modify the SATA cables to fit, though.
edit: Also, I just remembered that I had to drill mounting holes as the ones in the drive bay cage do not line up with the hdds when they are flipped. I also used some rubber mounts to get rid of the whole 5.25" adapter.
Instead of using the black metal plates, I used a spacer and screwed the rubber bushings right into the hdd. Then, I was able to use mounting screws right into the female part of the rubber bushing.Edited by dralb - 5/16/08 at 9:38am
