okay i am so tired of doing fresh installs! i was told that there is away to make an image of your entire system (c:\\) with registry drivers and all installed that when you would like to have a fresh install it just reinstall everything they way it was like a fresh install everything set up the same with out having to install individual drives and software. can anyone point me in the right direction?

I think that that would be something similar to "Norton Ghost"

I am confident that someone will correct me if I am wrong.

nLite is a tool for pre-installation Windows configuration and component removal at your choice. Optional bootable image ready for burning on media or testing in virtual machines.
With nLite you will be able to have Windows installation which on install does not include, or even contain on media, the unwanted components.
so basically it allows you to slipstream drivers, programs and what have you into a fresh install, then burn it to a cd.

Its pretty sick imo, and they also make a vista version.

yea very sick ... i got this idea because if a computer gets some nasty malware my college just inserts a disc with every driver ,app and OS and just runs a batch file and its like a brand new fresh install with out having to enter serials install updates or drives is awesome. anyways thanks for the hook up!

no problem. it also allows you to do unatended installs.... but make sure to label it as such, cause my coworker gave me one thinking it was just a XP disk.... well, peace out HDD

These are not what you want

This is what you want. It requires a spare HDD/partition as big as your current, however. It makes a bit-for-bit copy of your drive, programs, drivers, registry, everything. Whne you "reinstall" you just copy it back.

You could also throw some media on there to fill up any free space before making the image - use it as a backup
