Old? It's a Core 2 Duo. Same tech as your E8500, but different manufacturing process. Do you consider your E8500 old?

Isnt his 45nm though? I just got this CPU and board yesterday. I swear my old AMD X2 6000+ scored more on the cpu end.. Anyway This is the Nvidia section stay on topic. All drivers including Chipest are all latest available.

320mb of Vram isnt going to make 2 big of a difference in 3dmark06 from the 640mb im benching at 1280x1024

And also I can play grid with SLI ULtra Settings 1600x1200 2x aa @ 50fps

You have a low CPU clock. If your X2 6000+ was (heavily) overclocked, I'd HOPE it would score better! (and for sure expect it to). This thread doesn't have much to do with nVidia, since it's the CPU causing all the havoc.

Get moving with that overclock. Aim for 3.2GHz or higher... then we talk again.

This is my score with SLI 8800GTS 640MB and an E6750 @ 3.0GHz:
http://service.futuremark.com/compare?3dm06=6711500

Also, the CPU is holding me down in a major way. Once I get something better than stock cooling, I am shooting for 4.0GHz (3.92 GHz gave me a CPU score of 3556 with my other E6750 under a Tuniq - That's a huge difference compared to the CPU score at 3.0GHz).

Yes 45nm, that's what I meant with different manufacturing tech.

The cpu score for my E6300 is 2910 @ 3.3Ghz.

It's been long proven that a stock, or mildly overclocked Core 2 Duo CPU performs around the same as a high-end overclocked AMD dual core CPU. Going from X2 6000+ to E6300 is a lateral move at best, unless the E6300 is an exceptional overclocker.

At this moment, the Tri-Core AMD Toliman core is just about comparible with the higher end Core 2 Duos (E6750, E8400 and such). Phenom of course beats the Core 2 Duos, but has to admit defeat to the Core 2 Quads.

Older doesn't mean old. With old, you imply that the technology is outdated. The E6300 isn't outdated by any stretch of the imagination.

I think your cards may be running lower than they should because my single 9600GT gets similar SM2 and SM3 scores. Your CPU score however is pretty dead on.
