Raidmax 450W PSU vs 8800GS 384mb

Thread Starter
I have a new 8800GS 384mb video card on the way and I'm wondering if my current PSU will be able to handle it without causing bad performance. My power supply came with my case (Raidmax Ninja). Here are some specs pulled from the side of my PSU:

ATX12V 450 watts
+3.3V | 28.0A
+5V | 34.0A
+12V | 21.0A
-5V | 0.5A
-12V | 0.8A
+5Vsb | 2.0A

Here is a list of my other hardware:
E6600 @ 2.7 GHZ (motherboard won't let me go higher =[)
ASUS p5nsli (anyone know how to get this thing to take my e6600 higher than 2.7GHZ?)
CD+DVD burner combo drive
2 SATA harddrives (160gb and 80gb)
2 GB DDR2 800mhz (running at 900mhz) 4-4-4-12
1 PCI network card
+ some USB devices like MP3 player, game controllers, etc

So, will my PSU be able to handle all of this hardware? It seems to have been pretty reliable so far (currently have a 8600 gt 256mb).

If I do indeed need an upgrade, (my budget is pretty tight), what do you recommend?

Thanks in advance.

If it runs in accordance to its ratings, it should handle the GPU just fine. The problem is, is that cheapy PSU manufacturers don't even come close to living up to their ratings. They generally use bad capacitors, and have insufficient cooling.

The general rule of thumb is: Don't get a case that comes with a PSU, and if you do, don't use that PSU.

No, you need a PSU that at least have 30A on 12V to run the 8800GS.

As long as you don't o'c and your psu isn't too old you might be alright.
Psu's that come with cases are iffy sometimes. 21 amps

Maybe look at this 30amp for $35 (after rebate)
