BOOTMGR is corrupt

"BOOTMGR is corrupt. System cannot boot."

I take it this means one of my hard drives is failing? If I try for a while I can get windows to boot but most of the time it gets hung up on detecting array or give s me the error message.

i get that when my board doesnt like my overclock, but mostly only my old gigabyte boards did that

Could be a drive failing, drive controller failing, or other corruption (such as that from too high an overclock)

However, it could be a random anomaly rather that large-scale failure. Try putting in your Windows CD, getting to the recovery console, and running "fixboot" and "fixmbr".

The only problem is that my university gave us the copies of Windows. The repair option is not available.

Also, I have been running my overclock for over a month with little to no problems.

Looks like I'm spending the rest of the night re-installing Windows and all of my games.

Im not so sure if you fixed it already, but if you have another computer available, download "Supergrub" live CD. You can fix your BOOTMBR with it, and its VERY user friendly. Just remember to boot from CD.
