Mobo $220 XFX MB-N780-ISH9 LGA 775 NVIDIA nForce 780i SLI Intel Motherboard -lookin good

CPU $350
Intel Core 2 Quad Q9450 Processor -i would suggest a 6700 to save some bucks i did a lot of research on this subject for my computer and theirs little increase in performance between the 6700 and this save yourself 100 bucks and go with the 6700.

Ram $132
CORSAIR DOMINATOR 4GB (2 x 2GB) 240-Pin DDR2 SDRAM DDR2 1066 (PC2 8500) Dual Channel Kit Desktop Memory -gettin one myself

GPU $570x2
XFX PVT98UZHDU GeForce 9800 GX2 1GB 512-bit GDDR3 PCI Express 2.0 x16 HDCP Ready SLI Supported Video Card
-i highly suggest you get 2 "EVGA"(your going to want the step up program for your GFX) 8800gts g92's and wait for the release of the 9900's then step up to 2 of them in sli. if you dont know what step up is, evga will let u send in your old cards for full purchase price in trade for a newer card like the 9900's when they come out if you pay the difference.

CD/DVD drive - could care less, no real preferance, gonna run about $30.
-yep get a name brand like asus or samsung, make sure its sata, and make sure it matches your case.

HDD - $115 Western Digital Caviar SE16 WD6400AAKS 640GB 7200 RPM 16MB Cache SATA 3.0Gb/s Hard Drive - OEM -looks fine

Case/PSU 290$ (combo deal, thanks newegg)
-while theirs nothing peticularly wrong with these two theirs also not many people saying how incredible they are, i personaly dislike that case. at least take a look at a few more cases ill link some good ones in a sec. as far as psu goes i havnt heard anything good or bad on that brand but i think you might be better off with a well known brand like a nice corsair or silverstone.

How about BFG 9800 GTS's? They have a trade up program now, for 100 days.

i think the trade up program doesnt give full value for items traded in while the evga program gives the price you payed

as far as the processor advice.. i seem to be hearing that alot lately, i think i just may go the 6700 route if the performance diff really isnt that much... if i can save a bill using that cpu, and not lose much performance, it'd definately be worth it in my book.

the ram comment, yeah i really like it too the fan that comes with it is almost too cool for me NOT to get it haha, overheating is a serious concern of mine considering this is all going to be air cooled, not exactly trying to burn up a 2500$ rig

now to the gpu suggestions - step .. up .. program..? i REALLY like the sound of that, i'll definately be going with EVGA now as opposed to the XFX's i had selected.. considering i dont know if ill have the patience to wait for a 9900 that is DEFINATELY the way to go for me, id like to stay up on the current tech as long as i can afford to lol. ive allready all but nixed my dreams of a 9800 gx2 quad sli setup because of the post made earlier comparing performance of 9800 gts tri sli / 9800 gx quad sli... the price/performance just doesnt add up. and it will save me $300. so yeah.

finally the case/PSU suggestion... yeah i REALLY like that antec 1200 full tower you linked, very very sexy and seems to be just an oversized 900 (which was my previous choice before i decided not to try and 'cram' these huge gpus into a mid tower heh) its just a price concern at this point, ill rehash my system build with the suggestions i've been given here and i still may be under my budget (thanks to the tri sli/q9700 suggestions)

really i am VERY happy to have posted my build here, you guys are extremely knowledgeable and even seem to have saved me a buck or two which im very happy about. thanks to everyone who has posted here and helped me out as im a novice at best when it comes to this, ill probably post again later with a revised build taking all the suggestions here into consideration. THANK YOU ALL AGAIN.
