There's nothing wrong with TN panel monitors, not everyone needs 100% color precision and untra wide viewing angle. I read through the whole thread, it sounds like Gateway should replace it. It's probably a manufacturing defect. I hope they will give you a new monitor. Good luck.

You should never buy a TN panel over 22". Viewing angles will be terrible. I'm sure you bought it because you saw 3ms response time, but that's **** because they only list grey to grey. If your a gamer, stick to 22' screens. I had this monitor, I took it back the next day. I play games on my LGl246WP, P-MVA 24" panel excellent viewing angels. You should do your research before buying a screen. I suggest you read up on [H]forum, this gateway screen, has problems up the ass. Also the colors arent true 8-bit, they are 6-bit. I have less than 1 frame of input lag compared to a crt, this specific LG model is the fastest P-MVA panel out there. It's as fast and faster than some TN panels.

awdrifter , TN panels are the cheapest panels made. They break and die faster than any other. Low quality crap basically.

well, i bought this monitor for the many different inputs it has, plus the PIP functionality...

Other than this thing dieing so un-expectantly, i have had no other problems with the monitor. As for viewing angle, i sit in front of my monitor when i use it, so i am only looking at it from one steady angle, from the front...

I do agree with the 8-bit verses 6-bit thing. I am starting to do a lot of photoshop stuff, so i will be doing more research into the panel quality, for imaging sake.

No, On a 24 screen that is a TN, you will instantly be able to see some purple hue. Unless you are directly in front square in the middle, which is highly unlikely. And a chain of other problems of course.
