Mulitiple HDD or single HDD?

Thread Starter
hi i have miltiple HDD

1 for system (320Gb)
1 for work (500Gb Ext)
1 for game Iso (200Gb Ext)
1 for Software (40Gb)
1 for backups (80Gb)

is it better to say have 1Tb HDD and split partitions or to have this multiple HDD like i got considering i would like to keep the Ext drives as i move them around alot between my multiple computers, and the Game and software HDD's are networked to other machines.

For space,Heat and power reduction then having one or less HDD's is better.

However saying that you do put yourself in a risk zone. If you have ONE massive drive that you depend on and you keep all your stuff on it and it one day fails...well your fairly screwed.

I say get either 2X 500GB or 2X 1TB.

However the larger singular HDD will always pose a larger risk.
