What are the lowest user set voltages possible? q6600

I am lowering my vcore to find the lowest stable voltage @ 3ghz 9x333, on a q6600. So far I've tested with prime95 small fft's for 9 hours stable at 1.23125, and again tested using blend. Ram is 555-15, 800mhz.

Currently I'm running at 1.20625, only had time for a 15 minute test to see the vdrop, which went from 1.52-1.120 in cpu-z.

How low can the voltage be set for a q6600 at 3.0ghz? I started with the vid and went down from there and haven't had an error in testing or regular use yet.

I don't believe there is a lower limit, per se... it will just become unstable at a certain point. Keep going until you lose stability.

I don't think you can damage the chip by undervolting it. Someone please correct me if this is wrong.

Im not following you here... Typo maybe... running at 1.206 -- cpu-z 1.52 - 1.12 vdroop

Nah, but there is no real value of going lower than your vid aside from lower temps, which at your vid shouldnt be more than 50-55 under load...

Going in the wrong direction IMO should be trying more volts and higher clocks ;-)

cpuz had Core Voltage as 1.52. But I just went in a new direction and set it to 1.25v which is my vid and am running 3.2ghz now. At this setting 356x9 cpu-z vdrop is 1.20v. what does my vdrop show?

My quad does 333x9 @ 1.200V (after droop) quite nicely. I think it ran 3 months 24/7 at those settings. For 400x9 or 450x8 stable I need 1.400V. These are actually on the low side of the distribution curve if you poll all Q6600 owners.

Looks like a nice chip you have there.....now give it some go juice!

how i look at it vdroop consists of 3 diff settings
1. what you manually set in BIOS (mine is 1.45)
2. what it reads in windows idle via cpu-z - pc wizard - everest (mine is 1.43)
3. what it drops to under full load when you do a stress test (mine is 1.41)
(total of .04 vdroop from bios to windows full load)

its one setting and three different readings

if thats what happened from your idle voltage to load voltage, somethings way wrong..if you have it set as 1.2 and cpu-z says its 1.52 id try a couple diff readings to see if its accurate..
