Im trying to make a super low budget/almost free WC loop.

I have too much time on my hands due to recent health issues. So time is no factor. Also im not conserned about noise, look, space, or blowing up my computer. basicly I have been wanting to OC something ever sence I found out it could be done, however I have never had any kind of good cooling or the time to spend in learning and playing around. I have a small room full of old computers/parts. nothing better then what I have on my rig(as far as I know). I have been reading everything I can about OCing and WCing for a couple months now avidly (ive been interested for years though) and im ready to get going on what I like to call "Getto Watercooling for Broke but Crafty Folks"

I hope this dosnt offend any of you richies that have more invested in their pcs then I have in my car. I havent seen anything like this on the forums here so I might not be in the right place...tell me if I missposted!

I had a pretty nice p4 2.1 rig but it was stolen from my appartment along with everything of value that i owned a couple years back...it was brand new and probly only had about 200 hours of gameing on it. I still havent fully recovered. That will teach ya to check to make sure all the windows are locked when you go on a 2 week vacation.

What I have so far is a large HS that I swiped off an old emachine that was given to me 2 weeks ago. it was used in a small office and when I opened it up I was suprised to find it looked really clean and well taken care of. (dont get me wrong I know how crappy emachines are!) however it has a 2100x pali in it...I thought at first it was a Tbred and got really excited! all I have on my rig at home is a 1900. sence i have 2 or 3 of these older amd chips Im not afraid to play with them. I aslo have a p3 setup but the mobo is junk on it. ill make a full list of my parts when I get home.

maby one of you can check this for me...
agoia0215tpaw...its a green chip. pali or tb? crap or gold?

anyway I snatched the HSF and HS off the emachine...its made from aluminum and had large fins that I cut off with a hack saw. I then filed and sanded it tell the top was flat and now its a 8cm x 6cm x 7mm block it also has a 1cm lip on the under side for clearance of the chip holder.

I then drilled some small holes in the center of the block to a safe depth I hope...looks to be about 2mm from the bottom. this didnt work as well i I wanted it to becouse I have no drill press and had to use the dremal. I switched over to a cutting bit and cut out a nice pin pattern that resembles the head of a meat tenderizer hammer. its not as nice as some of the other machine milled blocks but for free hand with no design im really happy with the way it looks. Ill try to post a pic of it later tonight.

I asked my friend(a construction guy) to grab a copper cap from one of the plumbers at his site...im guessing he will get it today. if not ill head to the HW store and hunt one down for under 2 bucks. ill also grab up some hose barbs. I want to keep the whole project under $50 impossable?

I plan on spending money on only a few things...hose, barbs, Bolts/wingnuts and the pump if I cant get a donated one. but im sure someone out there has an old water pump just sitting collecting dust. I would like it to be a plug into the wall type to keep the load off my rig. but other than that im not picky.

my father owns a auto repair shop and im sure hes got a good heater core he can donate to the cause. so no worrys there...and if he cant find one for some reason Ill just build one of those huge bongs.

I would rather work hard then pay cash on this build...any ideas or any sudgestions? Im open minded to just about anything!
