Cheap build for a friend.

Thread Starter
My friend's emachine just died on him. We are sure its the motherboard. He is on a really tight budget, so it need it to be cheap. I figured I'd reuse some of the parts of his emachine.

Part to reuse:
IDE CD/DVD drive
IDE Hard Drive
2gb DDR2 533 Corsair Valueselect
emachines case

New parts:
Processor E2180-$72

Motherboard GIGABYTE GA-945GCM-S2C-$50
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...&Tpk=ga-945gcm

Power supply Thermaltake 430W-$35
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16817153023

Graphics Evga 8800GS-$135
http://www.newegg.com/product/produc...82E16814130333

OS Windows XP Home-$90

Total before shipping and rebates= $382

The reason I went with that motherboard is because it is micro atx so it can fit in the case. The only thing, it has only one PATA connection can I hook up the HD and the CD drive on the one IDE cable and plug it into the board. Other than that, anyone else like to comment on this build. Just remember the price needs to stay low. Thanks for your help in advance.

That does look like a nice power supply. Its a silverstone and it has two rails. The only thing it does not have a PCI-E connector. I thought about the 8800GS, but the cheapest at the egg is $135.

You could alway get this GPU - probably quite a bit better and only $40 more.

How 'bout this mobo-
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...2E16813128059R
its open box so its a bit 'meh' but it should be OK
Also, I've never had a problem with any thermaltake PSUs, they're not like the corsairs or tagans but for their price, they're great.

Ok, I was not thinking strait when I put the graphics card on the list. I was thinking of the 3850 not the 3650. Correction fixed decided to add the 8800GS, after a $30 rebate it was not much more than the 3850.
