Freeze during prime95=?

Hello,
I just built my computer (sig) and I have been having some problems with it.(I haven't overclocked it at all yet). The most prominent is that windows will randomly freeze up with no response and the only solution is to press the power button. It DOES happen randomly, but I know that it for sure will do it 100% of the time when running prime95. In troubleshooting, I want to see what this has to do with it. I used to think that it was a bad cpu problem, but then I noticed that it happened outside of prime. Does it freeze up like that when one has reached an unstable overclock? If that is the case, then it could be a hardware issue or something related, but (in my limited experience) I thought that if something like that were the case then the system would just restart, right? Because of that I think it might be a software problem (read:windows problem), but I figured I'd pop by and ask the benchmarking experts just to be sure.
Thank you.

Are you running on Auto Voltages in BIOS?

I haven't checked it yet (I know I should, and it occured to me immediately after I left my house this morning), but I haven't messed with anything and I actually reset all the bios back to default after I flashed to p04. I should probably check though just to be sure.

lol, well checking the BIOS would be a start. XD

Check memory and CPU voltages and clocks ( as well as RAM timings) ensure they are set to factory (not "auto" in BIOS) values.

if you still get these problems, run a memtest overnight and look at its results in the morning.
